Receive Team Notifications Through SwimTopia Mobile

We’re excited to release updates to SwimTopia and SwimTopia Mobile that allow team admins to send push notifications to team members’ phones. Now, in the Communications Center, team admins can choose between sending an email or sending an “alert” when they have succinct and timely information to share with the team. 

Team Communication Alerts

Your team can now send urgent messages quickly via the new Alert communication option, which is handy when practice is cancelled or your swim meet is delayed. When team admins send a communication as an alert, it triggers push notifications to the team members’ phones if they’ve downloaded the free SwimTopia Mobile app and allowed notifications. Our new alert feature should remove the need for external texting apps, because our alerts pop onto your team members’ phones just like a text would, whether or not the SwimTopia app is open. When you choose to communicate through the ‘Alert’ option, team members that don’t have the app will receive an email instead.

Because the alerts are generated from the Communications Center in your team website, you can target your messages to any of the same groups you’ve always been able to email. Whether you’re wanting to reach all members, a particular Role or Athlete Roster Group, an age group, or a dynamic group pulled from a report, you’ll always be offered the option to send either an email or an alert. Alerts cannot contain styled text or attachments, and are limited to 160 characters. Every message must have a subject (which will appear on phones as a bolded line of text) and a body.

Notification alerts from team admins are free in the app. Team members do not have to upgrade to Pro to receive team messages.
