Introducing Double Dual Scoring: Our New Feature for Head-to-Head Competition with 3 or More Teams!

Double Dual Scoring

Double Dual Scoring enables multiple pairs of teams within a single meet to be scored independently, as though each team pair were competing in their own dual meet. This unique scoring system ensures that results and scores for each team pairing are available as separate report filters. This article covers everything you need to know to set up, manage, and maximize the use of double dual scoring in SwimTopia’s Meet Maestro.

Covered in This Article:

Configuring double dual scoring occurs in Meet Maestro after meet entries have been merged. Make sure you’re logged in with the right permissions — either as a Site Admin or with a role that allows swim meet management. Contact your team admins if you need access.

Access Double Dual Scoring Setup

Double Dual Scoring can be enabled on any meet with 3 or more teams participating in the meet. There is no maximum number of team pairings you can create.

Once you have opened your merged meet in Meet Maestro:

Navigate to the “Seeding & Scoring” settings (located under the gear icon) and click on the Double Dual tab:

Add Team Pairings

Once double dual scoring is enabled, you can define specific team pairings for the meet.

  • Click on Add Team Pairing and select teams for each pairing. Each team can only be paired once, making it easy to avoid duplicate pairings and reducing setup errors.

Edit Team Pairings

Need to make changes to existing pairings? Here’s how:

  • Delete any unnecessary pairings, then add the correct ones as needed.

  • If you adjust pairings or toggle double dual scoring after some events have been scored, Meet Maestro will prompt you to confirm rescoring. This ensures accurate results and notifications on the SwimTopia mobile app.

Note: Rescoring should only be done if events have already been scored, as it can trigger notifications to SwimTopia mobile app users.

View Team Pairings in Reports

Once team pairings are set, you’ll find a “TEAM PAIRING” filter in various reports, allowing you to tailor report views based on specific pairings. Here’s how it works:

Psych Sheet

  • When None is chosen, the psych sheet contains all athletes listed in order of time from fastest to slowest.

  • With a Team Pairing selected, the report adapts to display the chosen pairing only in order.

Results Report

  • If None (show overall places) is selected for the TEAM PAIRING filter, you’ll see results based on other filters without any points — only the overall place.

  • When a Team Pairing is selected, points and placements for that pairing are displayed, with the report header showing the selected pairing.

Team Scores Report

  • Select No Team Pairing to see all results without specific pairings.

  • Or select a specific Team Pairing to view scores limited to that pairing.

Award Labels

  • When None is chosen, the full meet name displays on the last line and the overall place is awarded to the athlete.

  • With a Team Pairing selected, the report adapts to display the chosen pairing, along with the place earned in that specific pairing, allowing streamlined award distribution.
